Austin Reed Booth
Austin Reed Booth was a member of the Rifle Football family who passed away on January 17, 2011 after battling the flu.
From his obituary:
This Earthly world lost an exceptional young man on Monday, Jan. 17 after a hard fought battle at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction. He was 17.
Originally from Bedford, Texas, Austin Reed Booth was an extraordinary son, student and athlete who excelled at varsity football, basketball and baseball and academics.
He was a member of the National Honor Society, was awarded the Academic All-State First Team by CHSAA, and was named his Sophomore Class President in Boyd, Texas.
After making a significant mark on his community in Boyd, he and his family came to Rifle eight months ago, and quickly became a beloved part of this close-knit community. The effect of his loss can be greatly seen and felt by his mourning family and the countless number of friends that such a special soul attracted. While the hearts of those he touched are tender and raw with sorrow, they are simultaneously filled with joy, gratitude and love for Austin, and the memories left in his wake.
Number two on the Field, Number five on the Court, Number One in our Hearts.
Austin, you lived your life with purpose, passion and character, and your eternal soul will forever be cherished. We love you.
