The Rifle Bears continued their strong start to the season with a 28-0 win over the visiting Glenwood Demons on Friday night. Ryan Moeller had another solid outing with 325 yards and three touchdowns, but it was the defense that was the story of the night. The Bears gave up nothing easy and forced Glenwood to execute long methodical drives if the Demons wished to get on the scoreboard. Despite putting together two drives deep into Rifle territory, Glenwood came away empty, giving the ball up on downs each time. Rifle’s starting defense has yet to give up any points on the year. Only Coal Ridge has scored on the Bears so far in 2012 and the Titan’s touchdown came late in the game when Rifle was getting some younger players some varsity experience. Rifle is on the road this week, making the long drive to Cortez on Friday.
