The annual football war that is Rifle vs. Glenwood didn’t disappoint again in 2011. A Brandon Kittle touchdown with 2 minutes to play in the game sealed the deal for Rifle despite the fact that Glenwood still had one more late touchdown in them.
The win gives Rifle a perfect 10-0 season, only its second in school history, and guarantees them a top four seed in the class 3A playoffs. In the effort, Rifle eliminated the Demons from the playoffs. It was evident that the Glenwood team that ended the season was light years ahead of the team that started the season 1-4 overall. With young starters all over the field, the Demons look to be tough to beat once again in 2012.
Rifle’s playoff opponent will be announced on Sunday. The game will be played at Bears Stadium at 1:00 on Saturday.
