Chris Cline has been building a program at Elizabeth High School for eleven years and this season it is paying off. Cline will lead the undefeated Cardinals against the Glenwood Springs Demons to determine the best team in 3A in 2010. Kick off is Saturday at 2:00 at Legacy Stadium in Aurora. The Western Slope Conference is represented in the Finals once again by the 12-1 Demons. Glenwood has made an impressive run through the playoffs with lopsided victories over all three opponents. But as impressive as the Demons have been, the Cardinals have been even better, besting all three playoff opponents by more than 25 points.

Cline was graduate of Rifle High School in 1982 and assisted Darrel Gorham coaching football for Rifle in the 1990s. On two different occassions, Rifle and Elizabeth met in the playoffs in recent years, with the Bears winning both match ups. Elizabeth’s last meeting with Glenwood was a 24-3 loss in the 2009 playoffs.

This year marks the sixth time in the last eight years that the West Slope Conference has been represented in the state title game.
